The Muse...and Music!

For adventures in fogwalking, for 83K, for characters that surprise, amaze and move me, for new tunes, for the light at the end of the tunnel shining so brightly, for my family's patience as I sprint for the finish, and for the company of other writers along the path.

On this, the last Thursday of the year, I'm thankful for the winter sunlight pouring through my window, and for five days of no obligations or time constraints other than the dishwasher repair guy coming between 3-5 today 12-5 on Monday. Eight years ago today, I held a wide-eyed 9.5 lb baby boy in my arms for the first time. (And yes, I'm grateful he came via C-section, because ouch.) At the very least, it makes me blissfully happy. =)

I'm thankful for fog drifting through the tops of the maples in the Japanese Tea Gardens. For golden leaves scattered on green grass. For lines of pumpkins marching up my front steps and the smell of cinnamon spice candles.

For the first goldfinch sighting!!!!

On Monday, I commented to my DH that the goldfinches would be back in a few weeks. He said that seemed early, so yesterday, I checked my LJ (go, tagging system!). Today, I am grateful for:

• The scatter of yellow leaves under my sycamore trees.
• Needing a cardigan and slippers when I got out of bed.
• Kids who love school.
• A husband who loves me.
• Third Street Organic Chai concentrate. Excellent spice, not too sweet.
